Sylvia Crystal Ortega is a Commercial Real Estate Advisor with Pure Realty Commercial and Managing Member of Praz Realty Group, LLC, specializing in site selection, market analysis, retail, industrial, flex, office, and investment properties throughout Central Texas.

A multidisciplinarian with more than 25 years of experience spanning commercial real estate, economic development, public policy, legislative affairs, and business consulting, Sylvia brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to helping businesses identify strategic growth opportunities and make informed real estate decisions. Her expertise includes site selection, demographic and market analysis, lease and purchase negotiations, investment analysis, transaction management, and business expansion strategy.

Prior to her commercial real estate career, Sylvia served as Chief of Staff in the Texas House of Representatives and later as Legislative Liaison for Deloitte & Touche, where she worked at the intersection of government, business, and regulatory affairs.  As Principle Consultant at Praesel Consulting, she offers anciallary diversified services in strategic planning, government relations, and best practices research. 

A passionate advocate for workforce and economic development, Sylvia is the Founder of the Coalition for Apprenticeship Partners in Economic Development (CAPED). Through her leadership, she successfully designed and championed legislation creating a state apprenticeship incentive program that passed both chambers of the Texas Legislature and was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott.

Today, Sylvia advises business owners, investors, developers, and franchise operators seeking profitable locations for expansion and long-term growth. Her background in commercial real estate, government affairs, property management, and economic development allows her to provide clients with a comprehensive perspective that extends beyond the transaction and focuses on sustainable business success.

Sylvia currently serves on the Executive Board of the Central Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS® (CTCAR) as Secretary and Co-Chair of the Government Affairs Committee. She holds the Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist (TACS) designation, is a CCIM Candidate, an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®), earned a Master of Legal Studies degree and Certified Paralegal designation from Texas State University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Edward's University.
